KNIME is a powerful tool, with new capabilities appearing where ever you seem to look. At the same time it is surprisingly easy to learn. However, as with many things, the first steps are always the hardest. "KNIME Beginner's Luck" is aimed at getting the reader past the first few hesitant steps, and on the road to proficiency in using this powerful tool.
"Beginner's Luck" is distributed as a pdf, making it easy to read the book in one window and run KNIME in another. Innumerable screenshots illustrate the text, making it very easy to follow.
The book is not intended to be exhaustive; indeed the pace of additions to KNIME, especially third party nodes, makes such an undertaking both daunting and difficult to maintain. Instead the book brings the reader to a point where they should be comfortable exploring KNIME further on their own.
As a longtime KNIME user and node developer, I was looking for a book to recommend to people who needed to be able to run KNIME, but were not able to make it to formal KNIME user training. This book fills that need, and should help make KNIME accessible to an even wider audience of users.
