Some KNIME beginners was asking questions on twitter about how to perform some chemistry operation with KNIME.
I am not a chemist, so I could not help there. But I saw the tweet and answered to look for help on the KNIME Forum. The skeptic reply was that the KNIME Forum is too technical to help in a quick and pragmatic way.
My experience is that the KNIME Forum usually offers answers in a few hours, if not minutes. And yet, I have never posted questions about chemistry!
So I pushed a bit for the question to be nevertheless posted on the KNIME Forum, offering a beer in case the answer did not come soon enough.
Well ... in less than half an hour there was a first partial answer. Whithin one hour, richards99 (who else?) answered completely, citing specific nodes (to buy) and other free a bit more complex solutions! Wow... I did not have to buy the beer, but I was also astonished at how fast the answer in the KNIME Forum was even for such a specific topic!
This is the message I took home from this episode:
If you have a question about KNIME, just ask the Forum and go get some coffee/tea/whatever. the answer should be there when you come back!
