There are many options in KNIME to implement that. Let’s start with a simple OR filter on the adult data set. The task is to select people with a master OR a doctorate degree. Instead of using a number of Row Filter nodes, we can just use the Nominal Value Row Filter node.
The Nominal Value Row Filter node operates on string columns. After selecting a string column you are required to select the matching patterns, in our case “Masters” and “Doctorate” (see figure below for the node configuration window).
The second input port has been connected to a Table Creator node containing state government and federal government in one data column. Thus, the configuration window of the Reference Row Filter node in the figure below keeps all people working in the federal government or in the state government offices.
