|DMR - Data Mining and Reporting||
The recorded video of the presentation at the San Francisco Data Mining Meetup group "Who says that open source software does not have support?" is now available on Youtube.
I recently downloaded the latest version of KNIME (2.9) and I realized that the KNIME Explorer (the pnale on the upper left corner containing the list of your workflows) now also supports data!
It is a great new feature, because I can finally keep my data in the same place as the workflows and control both of them from the same platform.
Install the new KNIME. In the KNIME Explorer create a new workflow group (I named it "data"). Now, drag and drop any file from your file system into this workflow group and you should see it appear in it.
If you drag and drop the data from the workflow group into an open workflow and if the file extension is recognized by the File Reader node, you will automatically create, as in the previous versions of KNIME, a File Reader node reading the selected file. However, look now at the file path in the File Reader node: knime://LOCAL/data/sales.csv.
The File Reader node uses now the "knime:" protocol and not an absolute path, making the node and the workflow much more portable across workspaces and machines.
